- 3 c. all-purpose flour
- 1 1/2 c. firmly packed brown sugar
- 1 c. margarine or butter, softened
- 1 tsp. salt
- 1/2 c. corn syrup
- 2 Tbsp. margarine or butter
- 1 Tbsp. water
- 1 c. butterscotch chips
- 2 c. mixed nuts
Directions

1Heat oven to 350°.

2Lightly spoon flour into measuring cup. In a large bowl, combine flour, brown sugar, 1 cup margarine and salt.

3Blend well.

4Press in ungreased 15 x 10-inch jelly-roll pan or two 9-inch square pans.

5Bake for 10 to 12 minutes.

6In a small saucepan, combine corn syrup, 2 tablespoons margarine, water and butterscotch chips.

7Boil two minutes, stirring constantly. Sprinkle nuts over partially baked crust.

8Pour cooked mixture over nuts.

9Return to oven and bake an additional 10 to 12 minutes or until golden brown.

10Cut into 48 bars.
