  • 250 grams shortcrust pastry
  • 25 grams butter
  • 200 grams raisins
  • 25 grams diced apple
  • 50 grams granulated sugar
  • 2 tbsp mixed spice
  • 1 beaten egg or milk for glazing
  • 1 caster sugar for dusting

Directions

    Heat the oven to hot 220c divide the pastry in half and roll out each piece on a lightly floured surface into a 15cm square about 2mm thick

    Melt the fat, chopped apple,and mix with sultanas, sugar spice and melted butter
  3. 3
    Spread the mix on one piece of pastry, lay the other piece on top and seal the edges well

    Mark the top into squares with the back of a knife without cutting through the pastry, glaze with beaten egg or milk

    Put on a baking sheet and bake for 20 to 30 minutes until golden Brown

    Cut into squares and dust with caster sugar
