  • 1 lb unsliced round loaf sourdough bread
  • 1 lb monterey jack cheese, sliced
  • 1/2 cup butter or 1/2 cup margarine, melted
  • 1/2 cup chopped green onion
  • 1 -3 teaspoon garlic salt (optional)

Directions

    Cut bread lengthwise without cutting through the bottom crust.

    Then cut bread crosswise without cutting throught the bottom crust.

    Insert cheese between cuts.

    Combine butter, onions and garlic salt.

    Drizzle over the bread.

    Wrap in foil.

    Place on baking sheet.

    Bake at 350 degrees for 15 minutes.

    uncover and bake 10 minutes longer until cheese is melted.
