Ingredients

  • 1/4 c. wild rice (raw)
  • 3 Tbsp. margarine
  • 1 small onion, chopped
  • 1/2 c. chopped celery
  • 2 1/4 c. chicken broth (3 bouillon cubes and water), heated
  • 1 Tbsp. parsley flakes
  • 1/4 tsp. dried basil
  • 1/4 tsp. ground sage
  • 1 small can sliced mushrooms (and juice)
  • 3/4 c. regular rice (raw)

Directions

    Heat oven to 350°.

    Wash and drain wild rice.

    Saute wild rice, celery and onion in margarine.

    Pour into greased casserole. Pour broth over rice. Stir in seasonings and mushrooms.

    Cover and bake 45 minutes.

    Add regular rice, cover and cook 45 minutes more or until liquid is absorbed and rice is tender.
