Ingredients

  • 1/4 c. chopped onion
  • 2 Tbsp. butter
  • 2 Tbsp. flour
  • 1 tsp. salt
  • 1/2 tsp. paprika
  • 1/3 tsp. prepared mustard
  • 1/4 dash pepper
  • 3/4 c. milk
  • 1 (No. 303) can whole kernel corn (about 2 c.), drained
  • 1 egg, slightly beaten
  • buttered bread crumbs

Directions

    Saute onion in butter until tender.

    Blend in flour, salt, paprika, mustard and pepper and cook until bubbly.

    Remove from heat.

    Add milk gradually.

    Boil 1 minute, stirring constantly. Remove from heat; add corn and egg.

    Pour into 1-quart baking dish. Top with buttered bread crumbs.

    Bake in moderate oven at 350° for 20 to 30 minutes.
