- 1/4 c. minced onion
- 3 Tbsp. butter
- 2 c. soft bread cubes
- 1/2 tsp. sugar
- 1 tsp. salt
- 1/4 tsp. pepper
- 1 - 28 oz. can (#2 1/2) tomatoes (packed in puree is best)
- 1/4 c. bread crumbs
- 1 Tbsp. melted butter
Directions

1Saute onion in butter until tender.

2Add next 4 ingredients. Arrange layer of tomatoes in bottom of greased 1 1/2 quart casserole.

3Top with layer of onion mixture.

4Continue until all is used, tomatoes on top.

5Combine 1/4 c. bread crumbs with melted butter.

6Sprinkle on top of casserole.

7Bake at 375° for 45 minutes.
