- 1 lb. self-rising flour
- 4 Tbsp. sugar
- 4 oz. margarine
- 2 eggs, beaten
- milk to mix
Directions

1Rub margarine into flour.

2Mix in sugar.

3Put beaten eggs into milk; mix all together.

4Knead slightly; roll out about 3/4 inch thick.

5Cut into rounds.

6Place on baking sheet; well apart.

7Brush tops with a little beaten egg.

8Bake at 350° to 375° for about 5 to 10 minutes or until when tapped they sound hollow.

9If desired, before baking, add currants, raisins, cherries or any dried fruit. Serve warm and covered in butter and jam or just plain.
