- 1 1/2 to 1 3/4 c. self-rising flour
- 4 Tbsp. softened butter
- scant 1/3 c. sugar
- 1/2 c. milk
- pinch of salt
Directions

1Set oven at 425°.

2Put flour and salt in bowl.

3Add butter; cut into pieces.

4Rub butter and flour together with your fingertips until mixture looks like bread crumbs.

5Stir in sugar. Press and squeeze the dough together with your hands until a firm ball is formed.

6Gently roll out the dough until it is 3/4-inch thick.

7Cut out shapes with cookie cutters dipped in flour.

8Put Scones on greased cookie sheet and brush with milk.

9Bake 12 to 15 minutes until risen.
