- 2 c. all-purpose flour
- 2/3 c. granulated sugar
- 1 c. butter
- 1/4 tsp. salt
- 1 egg yolk
- 1 tsp. vanilla
- 1 c. chopped pecans (optional)
Directions

1Cream butter, sugar and salt.

2Stir in egg yolk and vanilla. Gradually add flour, mixing with fingers.

3Add chopped pecans if desired.

4Spread mixture evenly in greased 9 x 13-inch pan.

5Prick with fork to form squares.

6Cook in preheated oven at 375° for 20 to 25 minutes or until just golden brown.

7Sprinkle with sugar and cool in pan.

8This freezes nicely and thaws in about 30 minutes.
