Ingredients
- 2 c. unsifted all-purpose flour
- 1/2 c. sugar
- 2 tsp. cream of tartar
- 1 tsp. baking soda
- 3/4 tsp. salt
- 1/4 c. shortening
- 1/2 c. raisins or currants
- 2 eggs, slightly beaten
- 1/4 c. milk
Directions

1Sift dry ingredients together.

2Blend in shortening with pastry blender until mixture resembles fine bread crumbs.

3Add remaining ingredients.

4Mix with fork.
-
5Divide in two parts and turn each part out on floured board.

6Do not handle.
-
7Flatten with rolling pin into circles about 1/2-inch or more thick.

8Cut in triangles and put on greased and floured baking sheet.

9Bake in 400° oven for 15 minutes or until golden brown.

10Serve warm, slightly buttered. Yield:
