Ingredients

  • 2 c. sugar
  • 2 egg whites, stiffly beaten
  • 3/4 c. chopped nuts
  • 1/2 tsp. vanilla
  • 1/4 tsp. salt
  • 1/2 c. corn syrup
  • 2/3 c. boiling water

Directions

    Boil first the sugar, syrup and water to hard boil stage, 248° in candy thermometer.

    Pour syrup gradually over stiffly beaten egg whites.

    Add nuts, vanilla and salt.

    Beat until it is creamy. Pour into buttered pan.

    Cut when cool.
