- 1 lb. crabmeat
- 1 lb. shrimp
- 1 large bell pepper
- 1 large onion
- 2 cans tomatoes
- 4 Tbsp. flour
- 4 Tbsp. bacon drippings
- 2 c. water
Directions

1Brown flour (almost burnt) in bacon drippings.

2Brown onion and bell pepper (lightly) in another pan.

3Combine and add tomatoes and water.

4Salt and pepper to taste.

5Cook slowly 45 minutes, then add seafood.

6Cook for 30 minutes.

7Sprinkle gumbo file on top (about 1 tablespoon) and cook slowly 30 more minutes longer if preferred.
