Ingredients

  • 3 Tbsp. olive oil (to cover bottom of pan)
  • 2 or 3 small cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 medium onion, finely diced
  • 1 (No. 2) can tomatoes
  • 1 can tomato sauce
  • 1 large can tomato paste
  • 1/2 tsp. salt
  • 1/4 tsp. pepper
  • 1/8 tsp. sugar
  • 1 can tomato juice
  • 1 lb. spaghetti, cooked
  • 1 can tuna, drained
  • grated Parmesan cheese

Directions

    Heat olive oil in pan.

    Add garlic, onion and tuna and brown over moderate heat for about 5 minutes, stirring frequently.

    Add tomatoes, tomato sauce, tomato paste, salt, pepper and sugar and bring to boil.

    Allow sauce to simmer, in a covered saucepan, for 3 hours.
