- 2 cups self-rising flour
- 1 3/4 cups sugar
- 10 tablespoons cocoa
- 1 cup water
- 1/2 cup Crisco
- 1 cup buttermilk
- 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
- 2 teaspoons vanilla
- 1 cup butter
- 2 eggs
- 2 cups powdered sugar
- 1 cup chopped nuts
Directions

1Mix 1 cup water, 5 tablespoons cocoa, 1 stick butter, 1/2 cup crisco boil 1 minute.

2Sift 2 cups self-rising flour, 1 3/4 cups sugar. Pour chocolate sauce into flour mixture. Add 2 eggs, 1/2 cup buttermilk, 1/2 teaspoon soda and 1 teaspoon vanilla. Beat well. Pour into greased 9X13 inch pan. Bake @ 350 for 30 minutes.
