- 1 c. cornmeal
- 1 Tbsp. baking powder
- 2 Tbsp. each vegetable shortening and cold unsalted margarine, cut into bits
- 1/2 c. shredded sharp Cheddar cheese
- 2/3 c. skim milk
- 1 large egg white
- 2 Tbsp. sesame seeds

1Preheat oven to 425°.

2Grease a large baking sheet.

3In a large bowl stir together the flour, cornmeal and baking powder. Add the shortening and butter and blend with your fingers until the mixture resembles coarse meal.

4Mix in the cheese.
