- 1 gal. 5 or 6-inch cucumbers
- 2 Tbsp. coarse canning salt
- 5 lb. sugar
- 2 Tbsp. whole mustard seed
- 2 Tbsp. celery seed
- 1/2 tsp. turmeric
- apple cider
- 1/2 tsp. mace
- 1 1/2 sticks cinnamon
Directions

1Wash cucumbers and pack in gallon jar.

2Add canning salt; fill with apple cider.

3Soak for 6 weeks (date the jar).

4After 6 weeks, rinse and cut cucumbers fine into gallon jar.

5Add the 5 pounds sugar (1 cup at a time).

6Add spices.

7Shake after each layer of sugar until you have used all the sugar.

8Shake every week for 2 or 3 weeks.

9Open and eat.
