- 20 pickles
- 20 onions
- 3 1/2 c. sugar
- 3 c. white vinegar
- 1/3 c. salt
- 1 tsp. alum
- 1 tsp. celery seed
- 1 tsp. mustard seed
- 1 tsp. turmeric
Directions

1Slice the pickles and onions.

2Mix the sugar and vinegar, also the salt, alum, celery seed and turmeric.

3Do not heat vinegar and spices.

4Pour mixture over the onions and pickles.

5Place in jar in refrigerator. Shake once a day for 6 days while kept in the refrigerator for 3 months. Add 1 tablespoon of mixed pickling spice for taste.
