  • 1 1/2 lb. sirloin steak, sliced thin
  • 2 Tbsp. cooking oil
  • 2 Tbsp. cornstarch
  • 1 1/2 c. beef broth
  • 1 can water chestnuts, sliced and drained
  • 1 medium red pepper, chopped coarse
  • 5 green onions, sliced 1-inch pieces
  • 3 Tbsp. soy sauce
  • 1/4 tsp. black pepper
  • 1 1/2 c. quick cooking rice

Directions

    Saute beef in oil in large skillet until browned (about 5 minutes).

    Add cornstarch and blend well.

    Add broth, water chestnuts, red pepper, soy sauce, onions and black pepper.

    Bring to a boil, stirring often.

    Stir in rice and remove from heat. Let stand about 5 minutes.

    Fluff with fork.
