Ingredients

  • 2 eggs, beaten
  • 1/2 c. buttermilk
  • 2 c. sugar
  • 2 c. flour
  • 1 Tbsp. vanilla
  • 1 Tbsp. cinnamon
  • 1 tsp. baking soda
  • 1 c. butter or oleo
  • 1 c. water
  • 3 Tbsp. cocoa

Directions

    In a bowl (large), combine eggs and buttermilk.

    Beat in sugar, flour, vanilla, cinnamon and soda.

    Set aside.

    Combine butter or oleo, water and cocoa in a medium saucepan.

    Bring to a boil.

    Reduce heat and continue boiling 5 minutes, stirring occasionally.

    Add to batter and beat until smooth and well blended.

    Pour into a greased 9 x 13-inch baking pan.

    Bake in preheated 400° oven for 20 to 25 minutes or until toothpick inserted in center comes out clean.
