Ingredients
- 2 eggs, beaten
- 1/2 c. buttermilk
- 2 c. sugar
- 2 c. flour
- 1 Tbsp. vanilla
- 1 Tbsp. cinnamon
- 1 tsp. baking soda
- 1 c. butter or oleo
- 1 c. water
- 3 Tbsp. cocoa
Directions

1In a bowl (large), combine eggs and buttermilk.

2Beat in sugar, flour, vanilla, cinnamon and soda.

3Set aside.

4Combine butter or oleo, water and cocoa in a medium saucepan.

5Bring to a boil.

6Reduce heat and continue boiling 5 minutes, stirring occasionally.

7Add to batter and beat until smooth and well blended.

8Pour into a greased 9 x 13-inch baking pan.

9Bake in preheated 400° oven for 20 to 25 minutes or until toothpick inserted in center comes out clean.

10Cool.

11Spread evenly with Shawneetown Cake Icing.
