  • 2 c. flour, sifted
  • 2 c. sugar
  • 1 c. water
  • 1/4 c. cocoa
  • 2 eggs
  • 2 sticks butter
  • 1/2 c. buttermilk
  • 1 tsp. soda
  • 1 tsp. vanilla
  • 1/2 c. nuts

    Sift flour in a bowl.

    Add sugar.

    In a pan, melt 2 sticks butter, water and cocoa; heat to boiling.

    Pour over flour. Beating on low speed, add eggs and buttermilk with soda in it. Add vanilla.

    Bake on greased cookie sheet lined with wax paper. Bake at 325° for 30 minutes.

    Frost while hot.
