- 1 (No. 46) large shell macaroni
- 1 lb. sweet or hot sausage
- 1 lb. ground beef
- 1 qt. tomato puree
- 1/2 c. grated cheese
- 1/2 c. olive oil
- 1 large onion, diced
- 1 qt. tomato sauce
Directions

1In large pan, pour olive oil and onion; simmer.

2Add ground beef and sausage (brown).

3Add tomato puree and tomato paste. Cook about 2 hours on low heat, covered.

4Cook shells as directed. Drain; rinse with cold water.

5In a large baking dish, alternate layers of sauce, cheese and shells.

6Cover bottom of pan with sauce first.

7End with sauce on top.

8Bake at 350° for 40 minutes.
