Ingredients

  • 1 1/2 to 2 lb. ground beef
  • 1 medium onion, chopped
  • 1 can LeSueur peas
  • 1 small can julienne carrots
  • mashed potatoes
  • mild Cheddar cheese, grated
  • salt, to taste
  • pepper (optional)
  • 1/2 c. cooking wine (optional)

Directions

    Fry ground beef mixed with onion, salt and pepper until done. Drain grease.

    Add peas, carrots and cooking wine.

    Let simmer for 5 to 10 minutes.

    Fix mashed potatoes, approximately 2 cups (fresh or instant).

    Spread meat mixture into a 2-quart casserole dish and cover with mashed potatoes and top with grated cheese.

    Heat in microwave or 350° in conventional oven for 30 minutes or until cheese has melted.
