- 1 1/2 to 2 lb. ground beef
- 1 medium onion, chopped
- 1 can LeSueur peas
- 1 small can julienne carrots
- mashed potatoes
- mild Cheddar cheese, grated
- salt, to taste
- pepper (optional)
- 1/2 c. cooking wine (optional)
Directions

1Fry ground beef mixed with onion, salt and pepper until done. Drain grease.

2Add peas, carrots and cooking wine.

3Let simmer for 5 to 10 minutes.

4Fix mashed potatoes, approximately 2 cups (fresh or instant).

5Spread meat mixture into a 2-quart casserole dish and cover with mashed potatoes and top with grated cheese.

6Heat in microwave or 350° in conventional oven for 30 minutes or until cheese has melted.

7Serves 4.
