  • 1 lb. ground beef
  • 1/2 c. onion, chopped
  • 1/2 c. celery, chopped
  • 1 (10.5 oz.) can vegetable soup
  • 1/2 tsp. thyme
  • 1 tsp. salt
  • 3 c. potatoes, mashed
  • 1 c. cheese, shredded

    Cook beef, onion and celery in a large skillet until meat is brown.

    Drain drippings.

    Stir in soup, thyme and salt.

    Spoon meat mixture into a greased 2-quart shallow casserole dish. Spread potatoes over meat mixture.

    Bake at 350° for 20 minutes. Remove from oven and sprinkle cheese over top.

    Return to oven. Bake for 10 minutes more.
