Sherry Pie

Ingredients

  • 2 pkg. ladyfingers
  • 1 pkg. plain gelatin
  • 1/4 c. cold water
  • 4 egg yolks
  • 1/2 c. sugar plus 1/2 c. sugar (each 1/2 used at a different time)
  • 1/4 tsp. salt
  • 3/4 c. sherry
  • 4 eggs whites
  • 1/2 pt. whipped cream
  • shavings of chocolate

Directions

    Line two pie pans with ladyfingers.

    Dissolve gelatin in cold water.

    Beat egg yolks, sugar, salt and sherry.

    Put in double boiler and cook until thick.

    Add to gelatin.

    Beat egg whites and the other 1/2 cup sugar until glossy.

    Fold into mixture.

    Pour into pie pans.

    Let cool.

    Top with whipped cream.

    Sprinkle chocolate shavings on top!
