- 8 -10 bosc pears, peeled, cored and cut into quarters
- 2 cups water
- 2 cups cooking sherry
- 2 cups sugar
- 1 teaspoon ginger
- 1 teaspoon allspice
- 1 teaspoon apple pie spice
Directions

1Steam the pears in a large pot until tender but not soft.

2In a medium sauce pan combine the water, sherry, sugar and spices and bring to a boil.

3Boil all the alcohol off.

4When the pears are done, let them cool then cut into bite size pieces.

5Put the pear into your choice of canning jar and then add the hot sherry sauce to just below the rim.

6Boil the full canning jars in a water bath for 12 minutes, and then cool on a rack.
