- 6 slices bacon, diced
- 1 large onion, chopped (1 c.)
- 2 large potatoes, diced
- 1 tsp. salt
- 1 bottle clam juice (8 oz.)
- 2 cans minced clams (8 oz. size)
- 1 can tomatoes (1 lb. size)
- 1/2 tsp. thyme, crumbled
Directions

1Saute bacon until crisp in a kettle.

2Remove and set aside for next step.

3Stir onion into drippings in kettle; saute until soft. Add potatoes, salt and clam juice.

4Cover and simmer 15 minutes or until potatoes are tender.

5Stir in clams, tomatoes, thyme and cooked bacon.

6Simmer 15 minutes longer.

7You may use fresh clams instead of canned, but be sure to grind them and still juice the bottle of clam juice.
