  • 2 c. flour
  • 1 1/3 c. brown sugar
  • 2 Tbsp. Crisco
  • 2 tsp. baking soda
  • 1 1/2 c. boiling water
  • 2 c. King syrup or molasses*
  • 2 eggs, beaten

Directions

    Stir soda into boiling water. Add syrup/molasses. Stir well. Stir in beaten eggs. Then add crumbs. It will be lumpy. Do not stir until smooth. Pour into 2 unbaked pie shells and top with crumbs that were set aside. Bake at 375° for 10 minutes. Then reduce to 350° and bake another 25 to 30 minutes. Yields two 8 or 9-inch pies.
