- 2 c. all-purpose flour
- 1 1/2 c. brown sugar
- 4 Tbsp. shortening
- 2 tsp. baking soda
- 1/2 c. hot water
- 2 eggs, beaten
- 2 c. regular molasses
- 1 1/2 c. hot water (boiling)
Directions

1Mix first three ingredients like pie dough for crumbs.

2Take out 2 cups of these crumbs for top of pies.

3To remainder of crumbs in bowl, add next three ingredients and mix well.

4Dissolve 2 teaspoons baking soda in extra 1/2 cup hot water.

5Add to other liquid mixture.

6Divide liquid into 2 unbaked pie shells.

7Put crumbs on top and bake at 450° for 10 minutes.

8Turn down to 375° and bake about 30 minutes or until top is dry and done.
