  • FOR THE SHORTBREAD CRUST:
  • 1 cup Flour
  • 1/2 cups Butter

  • FOR THE BROWNIE LAYER:
  • 4 whole Egg
  • 1/2 cups Butter
  • 1/3 cups Shortening
  • 1 cup Brown Sugar
  • 1 cup Granulated Sugar
  • 3 Tablespoons Cocoa Powder
  • 1/2 cups Nuts (optional)
  • 1 teaspoon Baking Powder
  • 1/2 teaspoons Vanilla Extract
  • 1-1/2 cup Flour
  • 1 bag (12 Oz. Bag) Semi-sweet Chocolate Chips For The Chocolate Lover

Directions

    Mix the the flour and butter together until you reach the consistency of crumbs. Pat the mixture down in the bottom of a 5x7 pan and bake at 350F until lightly brown, or about 10 minutes. Remove from the oven and put the brownie layer on top.

    Mix all of the brownie layer ingredients together. Pour the mixture on top of the baked shortbread and bake at 350F for another 30 to 35 minutes. Do not over bake (they become dry). Remove and let stand till cool.

    Frost with chocolate icing of your choice, if desired.
