- 8 oz. (2 sticks) cold, hard butter, cut in chunks
- 1/2 c. sugar
- 2 c. flour
- pinch of salt
Directions

1In the bowl of an electric mixer, place butter and sugar.

2Mix on low speed for 15 seconds.

3Add flour and salt; continue mixing on low speed for 3 to 5 minutes, until the dough comes together. It will look dry just before it comes together.

4Place the dough on a lightly floured board; roll 1/4-inch thick.

5Cut out dough with a 3-inch star cutter or other desired shape.

6Place on cookie sheets 1/2-inch apart.

7Chill for 1 hour in the refrigerator or 1/2 hour in the freezer.
