  • 1 1/2 lb. unsalted butter at room temperature
  • 1 tsp. vanilla extract
  • 1/2 tsp. salt
  • 1 1/2 c. confectioner sugar
  • 3 c. flour
  • 2 c. cornstarch

Directions

    Cream butter, vanilla extract, salt and sugar together. Gradually add flour and cornstarch until mixture forms a dough. Divide into 5 equal parts.

    Roll each on lightly floured board into cylinder shape.

    Divide into 1-inch sections.

    Roll dough into ping-pong size balls.

    Press down with fork.

    Garnish with slices of red and green maraschino cherries.

    Bake in 350° oven for 25 to 30 minutes, or until edges turn golden brown.

    Cool 10 minutes and serve.
