Shredded Wheat Bread

  • 2 shredded wheat biscuits (large)
  • 2/3 c. honey
  • 2 c. boiling water
  • 6 c. unbleached flour
  • 2 Tbsp. butter
  • 1 tsp. salt
  • 1 pkg. yeast

Directions

    Combine wheat biscuits, butter, honey and salt.

    Add water and cool.

    Dissolve yeast in 1/4 cup warm water.

    Add to biscuit mixture.

    Stir in flour with heavy spoon or spatula.

    Don't knead. Place in two loaf pans.

    Let rise until double, about 1 hour. Bake 45 minutes at 350°.

    Remove from pans and cool.
