Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup finely chopped onion
  • 2 cups diced seeded, peeled tomatoes or (28 ounce) cans crushed tomatoes
  • 1/4 cup olive oil
  • 2 teaspoons sugar
  • 2 tablespoons garlic, finely chopped
  • 1 teaspoon fresh basil
  • 1 teaspoon fresh oregano
  • 1 teaspoon fresh marjoram
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 teaspoon white pepper
  • 1 dash cayenne
  • 1 lb linguine
  • 8 large pitted olives, sliced
  • 20 large shrimp, peeled and deveined
  • 1/4 cup grated romano cheese
  • 2 tablespoons fresh parsley, chopped

Directions

    Brown onion lightly in oil.

    Add garlic, stir for about 30 seconds.

    Add tomatoes.

    Add sugar, olive oil and all seasoning.

    Simmer for about an hour and a half.

    Cook pasta, toss with red sauce and garnish with olives and parsley.

    Sprinkle with cheese or pass it while serving.
