- 1 pound shrimp ( 15 to 20 count )

1Bring a large pot of water to the boil and boil shrimp for 3 to 5 minutes until they are pink and rise to the top.

2Drain in colander until cool (20 - 30 minutes).

3This will finish any cooking but ensure that they remain tender not rubbery.

4Now you can peel them and remove the vein by slicing down the outside of the back and running them under cold water, or if you don't care about the vein, just peel them.

5Place in the refrigerator for several hours (or overnight wrapped in plastic).

6The vein/intestine doesn't hurt anyone, but some people have a phobia about it.

7Place cocktail sauce in a bowl in middle of a platter.

8Arrange shrimp around bowl of sauce.
