Ingredients

  • 1 piece garlic
  • 1 medium onion
  • 1 medium green pepper
  • 1/2 c. celery, chopped
  • 2 Tbsp. flour
  • 1 tsp. sugar
  • 1 (28 oz.) can stewed tomatoes
  • 1/4 tsp. Tabasco sauce
  • 1 c. wine
  • 1 tsp. salt
  • 2 Tbsp. chili powder
  • 1/4 tsp. thyme
  • bay leaf
  • 1 1/2 lb. shrimp
  • rice

Directions

    Saute garlic, onion, green pepper and celery.

    Cook until tender, about 10 minutes.

    Add flour and sugar and stir.

    Add stewed tomatoes, Tabasco sauce, wine, salt, chili powder, thyme and bay leaf.

    Simmer 1 hour.

    Add shrimp.

    Serve over rice.
