Ingredients
- 12 oz. fresh or frozen shelled shrimp
- 1/2 c. chopped onion
- 1/2 c. chopped celery
- 1 clove garlic, minced
- 3 Tbsp. oil
- 1 (16 oz.) can tomatoes
- 1 (8 oz.) can tomato sauce
- 1 Tbsp. Worcestershire sauce
- 1 1/2 tsp. salt
- 1 tsp. sugar
- 1/2 to 1 tsp. chili powder
- dash of hot pepper bottled sauce
- 2 tsp. cornstarch
- 1 Tbsp. cold water
- 1/2 c. chopped green pepper
Directions

1Cook onion, celery and garlic in oil until tender but not brown.

2Add tomatoes and tomato sauce, Worcestershire, salt, sugar, chili powder and hot pepper sauce.

3Simmer uncovered 45 minutes.

4Mix cornstarch with cold water; stir into sauce.

5Cook and stir until bubbly.

6Add shrimp and green pepper.

7Cover; simmer 5 minutes.

8Serve over cooked rice.
