- 1 lb. shrimp (uncooked), peeled
- 1/3 c. butter
- 1/4 c. flour
- 1 c. hot water
- 1/2 c. chopped green onions and tops
- 4 garlic cloves, minced
- 1/2 c. chopped parsley
- 1/4 c. chopped green peppers
- 1 1/2 tsp. salt
- 2 bay leaves
- 1/2 tsp. crushed thyme
- dash of cayenne pepper
- 1 (8 oz.) can tomato sauce
- 1 lemon, sliced
- hot cooked rice
Directions

1Melt butter and blend in flour; brown, stirring constantly. Add water slowly, stirring until thick.

2Add remaining ingredients, except rice.

3Cover and simmer for 20 minutes. Remove bay leaves and serve over rice.
