Ingredients

  • 2 large onions, chopped
  • 1 green pepper, chopped
  • 1 lb. fresh mushrooms, sliced
  • 1 large cans (29 oz.) tomato sauce
  • 1/2 tsp. cayenne pepper
  • 1/2 tsp. garlic powder
  • 2 tsp. sweet basil
  • dash of Tabasco sauce
  • 1 to 2 lb. peeled, cooked shrimp
  • 2 c. rice
  • 2 tsp. salt
  • 1/2 tsp. pepper
  • 4 c. water

    Saute first 3 ingredients in a deep skillet until tender.

    Add next 6 ingredients.

    Cover and simmer for 20 minutes.

    Cook remaining ingredients.

    Boil until liquid is absorbed (do not stir).

    Let set for 5 minutes, then fluff with a fork.

    Either add the rice to the sauce and mix well or pour the sauce over each serving of rice.
