Ingredients
- 1 1/2 c. chopped onion
- 1 c. celery, chopped
- 1 c. tomatoes
- 1 c. tomato sauce
- 1 lb. frozen okra
- 1 1/2 lb. fresh, peeled deveined shrimp
- 1 can crabmeat
- 2 tsp. salt/pepper
- 2 qt. water
- 1 Tbsp. Worcestershire sauce
- 1 tsp. Tabasco
- 2/3 c. plain flour
- 2/3 c. bacon drippings
- cooked rice
Directions

1To make roux:

2Heat bacon drippings in skillet until hot.

3Add flour and stir over medium heat until chocolate brown.

4Add onions and celery.

5Brown another 5 minutes.

6Add tomatoes, tomato sauce, salt and pepper to roux.

7Add 1 quart of water to dissolve.

8Add another quart of water.
-
9Simmer 1 hour.

10Bring to a boil; add okra, Worcestershire and Tabasco.

11Cook until vegetables are done.

12Add shrimp and crabmeat.

13Done when shrimp are tender.
-
14Do not overcook, shrimp will be tough.

15Eat over hot fluffy rice.
