Ingredients
- 3 slices bacon
- 1 medium chopped onion
- 1/2 c. okra
- 1 tsp. salt
- 1/8 tsp. pepper
- 1/8 tsp. oregano
- 2 tsp. sugar
- 2 chicken bouillon cubes
- 1 c. cooked rice
- 1 lb. cleaned raw shrimp
- 1 can tomatoes
- 1 can water
Directions

1Fry bacon and onion over low heat until onion is transparent and bacon is crisp.

2In Dutch oven, add bacon ad onion.

3Add the tomatoes and okra, salt, black pepper and oregano.

4Add sugar, bouillon cubes and water.

5Simmer slowly about 2 hours.

6Add 1 cup cooked rice.

7Simmer 15 minutes.
-
8Add shrimp; simmer 15 minutes or until shrimp are pink.

9Cool 10 minutes.

10Serve.
