Ingredients

  • 1 1/2 pounds medium shrimp, cooked, peeled, and deveined
  • 3/4 cup butter, softened
  • 2 tablespoons lemon juice
  • 1/4 teaspoon onion juice
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon red pepper
  • 1/4 teaspoon dry mustard
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground mace
  • Assorted crackers

Directions

    Position knife blade in food processor bowl; place shrimp in bowl, and cover with lid. Coarsely grind shrimp. (A meat grinder may be used instead of food processor, if desired.)

    Combine ground shrimp and butter in a medium mixing bowl; stir until well blended. Add lemon juice, onion juice, salt, pepper, mustard, and mace; mix well. Refrigerate several hours. Serve with crackers.

    Note: Shrimp paste may be spooned into a lightly greased decorative mold.
