Shrimp With Squash Casserole

  • 1 (4 1/2 oz.) can shrimp
  • 1 1/2 Tbsp. each butter and flour
  • 1 1/2 c. milk
  • 1 tsp. salt
  • 1/4 tsp. pepper
  • 4 yellow crookneck squash, sliced in rounds
  • 1/2 c. bread crumbs

Directions

    Moistened in 2 tablespoons butter, drain and rinse shrimp. Melt butter, blend in flour, gradually add milk and cook to smooth sauce; season with salt and pepper.

    Add shrimp and squash; layer in buttered casserole alternately with shrimp, sauce and crumbs. Reserve some crumbs for top.

    Remove cover and bake 25 minutes in 325° oven.
