- 3 teaspoons baking powder
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 cup shortening (if you don't have shortening margarine or butter will work)
- 1 cup milk

- 1 tablespoon garlic powder

2Sift dry ingredients into bowl, cut in shortening (or substitute) until it resembles coarse crumbs.

3Make a well; add milk all at once and stir quickly with fork just until dough follows fork around bowl and all ingredients are combined.

4Grease baking sheet, drop dough by rounded tablespoons or teaspoons onto baking sheet.

5Optional: Sprinkle tops of biscuits with parmesan and garlic powder or garlic salt before baking.
