  • 3/4 c. lightly salted butter
  • 1 1/2 c. dark or light brown sugar
  • 1/3 c. milk
  • 1 tsp. vanilla
  • 3 c. confectioners sugar

    Melt butter in small pan and stir in brown sugar.

    Stir in milk and bring mixture just to a boil.

    Cool to lukewarm (about 110°).

    Stir in vanilla and confectioners sugar and beat until creamy.
