Simplified Egg Casserole

  • 10 slices trimmed white bread
  • 1/2 lb. (+ or -) Cheddar and/or Jack cheese
  • 6 eggs
  • 3 c. milk
  • 1/2 tsp. salt

Directions

    Grease 9 x 13-inch baking dish.

    Cut or tear bread into 1-inch pieces (forget the butter).

    Mix bread and cheese; pour over mixture of beaten eggs, milk and salt.

    May dot with butter (not necessary).

    Refrigerate overnight.

    Bake 50 minutes or more, so it won't be soggy in the center.
