Ingredients
- 4 1/2 c. flour
- 3 tsp. yeast
- 1 1/2 c. lukewarm water
- 4 Tbsp. sugar
- 1/2 c. vegetable oil
Directions

1Dissolve yeast in lukewarm water.

2When dissolved, add sugar and 2 1/2 cups flour to make a soft sponge.

3Beat thoroughly with a wooden spoon.

4Set aside to rise until double in bulk (about 30 to 40 minutes).

5Add remaining flour and 1/4 cup fat to sponge and mix well.

6Turn onto a slightly greased board using remaining 1/4 cup fat and knead until smooth.

7Divide dough into 24 to 36 pieces, depending on desired size.

8Form into balls; flatten one ball with heel of hand and put filling in the center.

9Gather the edges together and seal.

10Lay on square piece of paper, sealed side under, and set aside for 20 to 30 minutes.
