Ingredients

  • 2 2/3 c. flour
  • 2 c. sugar
  • 1 c. margarine, softened
  • 1 c. buttermilk
  • 3/4 c. cocoa
  • 2 tsp. baking soda
  • 1/4 tsp. salt
  • 1 1/2 tsp. vanilla extract
  • 2 large eggs
  • instant coffee powder or granules
  • 10 (1.4 oz.) chocolate covered toffee candy bars
  • 2 c. heavy cream
  • 3 Tbsp. light brown sugar

Directions

    Mix first 9 ingredients.

    Dissolve 2 teaspoons coffee in 1 cup boiling water.

    Add to bowl and beat for 2 minutes.

    Pour batter into 3 (8-inch) greased and floured round cake pans and bake for 25 to 30 minutes at 350°.

    Cool 10 minutes.

    Remove from pans and cool completely.
