  • 2 lb. stew beef, cubed
  • 1 can peas
  • 1 c. sliced carrots
  • 2 medium onions, chopped
  • 1 large potato (raw), sliced
  • 1 can tomato soup
  • 1/2 c. dry red wine
  • bay leaf
  • freshly ground black pepper

Directions

    Put all ingredients in a large ovenproof casserole with a tight fitting cover.

    Put in preheated oven (275°) and let it do its thing for 5 hours or more.
