- 18 cup lard or drippings, or butter ( I prefer butter)
- 1 each onions
- 1 cup oatmeal
- 1 x salt and black pepper
Directions

1Heat dripping until smoking hot and fry onion until it becomes pale brown colour.

2Add oatmeal and salt and pepper and mix well together.

3Continue cooking slowly with lid on for about 15 minutes.

4Serve hot with mashed potatoes.
