Ingredients

  • 1 head cabbage
  • 1 green pepper
  • 1 Tbsp. salt
  • 1 1/2 c. sugar
  • 1 tsp. celery seed
  • 1/2 c. Wesson oil
  • 1 c. vinegar
  • 1 tsp. ground mustard
  • 2 large onions (optional)

Directions

    Shred cabbage.

    Place in a plastic container a layer of cabbage, then a layer of shredded onions and chopped pepper until all used up.

    Mix oil, vinegar, sugar, salt, mustard and celery seed.

    Heat to a boil.
  5. 5
    Spoon hot mixture over cabbage.

    Do not stir.

    Refrigerate at least 4 hours.

    Will last for a week or more.
